Job description:

St. Augustine’s Catholic Voluntary Academy, part of the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Multi Academy Trust, is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant on a fixed-term contract for 1 year, who will support learning in the Foundation Stage and year one from September 2020.

Ideal candidates for this post will have experience of working within a Primary School Foundation Stage setting and teaching phonics with Read, Write Inc. The role will include supporting pupils’ learning in the outdoor and indoor environments through a blend of adult-led and child-initiated learning. They will be expected to support the teacher in monitoring, assessing and recording pupil progress/activities, with short and long observations to provide evidence for the development matters outcomes and the Early Years Foundation Stage Profile.

The successful applicant will:

• Be qualified to minimum NVQ level 2 in a relevant area

• Be educated to a good standard in English and Maths

• Be able to challenge, motivate and foster independence in our pupils

• Be hard working and passionate about engaging children in learning and overcoming barriers
